Hello Folks,
Someone said to me this past Sunday evening that they believe our congregation is getting ready to explode in growth. We have been seeing great attendance, great worship and a wonderful spirit in our services. People are getting involved in CL4CL (Christian Learning For Christian Living) at a very good rate and new people are entering our doors on a regular basis. It seems to me that we certainly are ready for God to do something of a wonderful nature among us.
I was thinking about some of the things that are necessary for growth to be more than just more people coming into a building because of the programs and it seems to me that one of the core pieces is the heart of leadership. So I ask you to pray with me that my heart, as well as the heart of other leaders, would be open to God and He could do in us what He so desires. May I have a heart that wants growth for the right reasons and a heart that will seek after God. May my heart be filled with His Spirit and may He remove anything that is not what He would desire. I guess I have more concern about me being the right leader, or the right follower of Jesus, than about some of the other things.
Starting next Sunday Kevin Beck, a pastor from Ohio, will be preaching our Winter Camp Meeting at Camp Greene. I would ask you all to pray and if possible to attend. He will bring his 3 sons with him and they will stay in my home. Ruth and I look forward to their being with us and and to the good time we will spend together. What a joy it is for me to have them with us.
